Swacchta hi Seva 2019: Swachhta hi Seva 2019 was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Mathura on September 11, 2019. The Swachhta Hi Sewa 2019 theme is ‘plastic waste awareness and management’.
Swachhta hi Seva is a massive nationwide awareness and mobilization campaign on Swachhta. The Swachhta Hi Seva 2019 is being organized from September 11 till October 2, 2019. PM Modi had set the goal of making India ODF by October 2, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi under the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM).
Objective:
The Swachhata hi Seva Campaign aims at accelerating the momentum of Swachh Bharat in the run-up to its 4th anniversary, re-energize the Andolan and lay down the foundation of sustainability, reinforce the concept of “Sanitation is everyone’s business” and commence Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth year celebrations with a nationwide campaign.
The movement aims to generate greater public participation towards Swachhta. The key objective of the campaign is to mobilize people and reinforce the public movement for sanitation to contribute to Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of a Clean India.
